Welcome to MINE2 Cybersecurity Insights
This is where we'll write down what we're seeing. New attack techniques, deception strategies that actually hold up under pressure, and the messy details of how real intrusions play out. No fluff, just what we'd tell a peer over coffee.
Who We Are
MINE2 builds cyber deception technology. Most security tools try to wall attackers out. We do something different: we let them in, into a fake version of your environment built from realistic decoys. They trip an alarm early, we learn what they're after, and your real assets stay untouched. Because a decoy only fires when someone touches something they shouldn't, the false-positive noise that buries most SOC teams mostly disappears.
I've spent years on the incident-response side of breaches, and the pattern almost never changes: attackers get a foothold, then spend days or weeks moving quietly before anyone notices. Deception flips that timeline. The moment they reach for a planted credential or a decoy share, you know.

Breakdowns of new attack vectors and the techniques we see surfacing in the wild.
📊 Case Studies
How real organizations used deception to catch an intrusion that would otherwise have run for weeks.
💡 Best Practices
Hands-on guidance for rolling out deception and tuning your detection so it stays quiet until it matters.

If you want a feel for the kind of work we dig into, these four are a good entry point:
- CVE-2025-53786 Exchange Vulnerability - a critical hybrid Exchange flaw that needs action now
- HeartCrypt EDR Killer - a ransomware weapon built to switch off endpoint security
- BitUnlocker Vulnerabilities - physical attacks that defeat BitLocker encryption
- WinRAR Zero-Day CVE-2025-8088 - how RomCom turned a popular archiver into a delivery vehicle
If named-breach post-mortems are more your thing, the Uber 2022 breach and what PAM missed is worth a read too.
